The suspect in a Monday night Morgan City murder has surrendered to authorities. Justin Edward Patterson is charged with second-degree murder in the death of Mikki Jay Dauntain. Patterson allegedly shot Dauntain in the head near the corner of Garber Street and Federal Avenue. Dauntain was taken to an area hospital where he later died.
Patterson also faces a host of gun charges. He is being held in the Morgan City Jail on $1.03 million bond.
