There will be free rabies shots for dogs and cats 3 months and older in St. Landry parish in June. The vaccination and registration of dogs and cats is required yearly in the parish.

A deputy in St. Landry Parish was shot at after conducting a routine traffic stop on Interstate 49.
It happened in Whiteville at exit 40, at LA 29 and I-49. The driver of the vehicle, 61-year-old Charles Martin of Oberlin, pulled into the parking lot of a gas station and stopped. (More)
